Nina Barton has 15 years of diverse experience working in natural resource management in western Canada. Nina has gained expertise in socio-economic and environmental assessment, permit review processes, and environmental planning. She has led and contributed to components of federal and provincial socio-economic and environmental assessments and permit review processes for projects in British Columbia, Alberta, and Yukon, including marine terminal developments, mines, onshore and offshore oil and gas, flood protection, wind energy, and hydroelectric projects. Nina’s environmental assessment experience includes project scoping, constraints analysis, data collection and analysis, stakeholder and First Nations engagement, oral defence, technical workshop facilitation, methodology design and production of technical data reports and assessments. Her main areas of expertise are land and resource use, marine planning, fish and fisheries, socio-economics and community health.
