James Mair is a Project Manager with 15 years of experience in environmental consulting in BC, Ontario, and Alberta. In addition to his experience managing Environmental Site Assessments, James directs environment field investigations and site remediation programs involving multiple media, including soil, sediment, and groundwater.
James has a wide range of expertise in environmental assessments including powered and decommissioned substations, pole storage yards, diesel generating stations, petroleum distribution and bulk plant facilities, marine water lots, and industrial and commercial facilities. He also has extensive experience interpreting and meeting guidelines and regulations, including the BC Ministry of Environment Contaminated Site Regulations and the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Canadian Environmental Quality Guidelines. In addition, James selects and directs teams of biologists, engineers, and geologists to complete complex marine, lake and river sediment, groundwater, vapour, and soil investigations.
A certified Project Management Professional, James is adept at managing changing specifications and making cost-effective modifications to field programs and projects while ensuring quality and delivering functional solutions to clients. He is also is highly regarded for effective client communication; regulatory liaison with municipal, provincial and federal authorities; and securing permits and approvals.
