Geoexchange / Alternative Energy Engineer

HEMMERA ENERGY, a growing division within HEMMERA, provides specialized energy engineering, science, and management services to promote reliable and cost-effective application of renewable energy technologies. Description: We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent technical and interpersonal skills to work with our talented team in delivering outstanding service to our clients. As a Geoexchange / Alternative Energy Engineer, you will be involved in a wide variety of work and will engage with numerous project teams. You will work closely under the direction of a project director as well as with other staff, community members, and contractors that make up project teams.

Position requirements:

  • Registered professional engineer in British Columbia with experience working on projects focused on sustainability / alternative energy planning and development
  • Experienced mechanical building system and / or geoexchange designer
  • LEED experience/knowledge
  • Economic and business development skills
  • Excellent research, analysis and writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and on project teams
  • Results-oriented and able to deliver quality work within multiple project timelines
  • Willing to work within an employment partnership between two private firms

Please highlight any experience/qualifications you may have in:

  • Economic and business development
  • Developing detailed or conceptual designs for geoexchange or integrating other alternative energy systems
  • Relevant field work
  • Working with GIS
  • Working on energy system development issues with First Nation and rural communities
  • The following sectors - alternative energy & green building design
  • Project management
  • Developing workplans, budgets and proposals
  • Facilitating client meetings

Location/Working Conditions: The successful candidates will be based in our Vancouver office.
