Environmental Scientist

Description: We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent technical and interpersonal skills to work with our talented team in delivering outstanding service to our clients.

Duties will include performing contaminated site investigations, remediation, risk assessment, data evaluation, report writing and project management. The successful candidates will work on a variety technically challenging projects and play a key role in the growth and development of the firm.

Position requirements:

  • A graduate degree, preferably a master’s degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering.
  • 5 years of environmental consulting with some project management experience.
  • Contaminated sites and risk assessment experience is mandatory, some experience in environmental impact assessment is a definite asset.
  • Conceptual Site Models (CSM) experience
  • Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Sites Investigations (PSI) process within British Columbia and experience in completing Stage 1's and/or Stage 2 PSI's.
  • Groundwater sampling techniques including bailers, waterra and low-flow sampling.
  • Borehole/monitoring well installation, soil stratigraphy logging, soil sampling and monitoring well development experience
  • Previous work experience with heavy equipment (back-hoes, excavators) for the purpose of test-pitting and remedial excavations.
  • Working knowledge of the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation (CSR) Soil and Groundwater Standards and the CCME Guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location/Working Conditions: The successful candidate will be based in our Vancouver office. The position will involve approximately 75% office work and 25% field work.
