The Northlands Golf Course in North Vancouver, BC—a renowned course that was named one of Golf Digest magazine’s 4-Star “Best Places to Play”—emphasizes its natural, forested location. When their hot water system needed replacement they decided on solar power, as a clean-energy alternative that would provide energy savings while showcasing North Vancouver District’s commitment to solar energy and greenhouse gas reduction. Hemmera was selected to design and install a retrofit solar system with the capacity to serve the gold club and its Northlands Bar and Grill, a restaurant, bar and event facility that serves over 20,000 patrons annually.
The successful project was one of the first solar hot water installations on a golf clubhouse in the Lower Mainland. Hemmera was commended by Dominica Babicki, Energy Manager for the District of North Vancouver, for the speedy deployment and professional installation. North Vancouver sees the golf club’s solar hot water system as a pivotal project that bolsters the district’s position within BC’s evolving solar community.
