Our Environmental Impact Assessment team includes some of the industry’s most respected experts. Several team members have published articles and made presentations to private sector and First Nations groups on technical and legislative issues regarding Environmental Assessment legislation. Currently, Hemmera is leading or contributing to Environmental Assessments for several of the largest and most complex natural resource and energy projects in Canada.

We are experienced in managing environmental reviews under the BC Environmental Assessment Act (BCEAA) and the harmonized environmental assessment process under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA), and have completed many joint reviews, including reviews of the South Fraser Perimeter Road (Greater Vancouver), The Deltaport Third Berth (Roberts Bank), and BC Hydro Projects including Site C, the John Hart Generating Station Replacement, Strathcona Dam Safety Upgrade and more.

In Northern Canada we have conducted some extremely challenging Environmental Assessments for the resource industry, including Yukon Zinc’s Wolverine Mine, Strata Gold’s Dublin Gulch Project, Selwyn Resources’ Selwyn Project, and the Jericho Diamond Project.

Our Environmental Baseline Toolkit is a unique solution for exploration companies, which is used to develop customized biophysical and social assessment programs.
